Experienced Professional Joins The Commpliance Group; Growth in Demand for Full Spectrum Compliance Services Continues to Surge

Marashlian & Donahue, LLC, The CommLaw Group, recently welcomed Vineetha Pillai to The Commpliance Group, its affiliated regulatory consulting and outsourced compliance services division. Ms. Pillai is a 2011 graduate of the Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law, with a certificate from the Institute for Law & Public Policy.  During law school, Ms. Pillai served as the Managing Editor of the CommLaw Conspectus and oversaw the production of the seminal law review article on the Federal Communications Commission’s Universal Service Fund, Mis-Administration and Misadventures of the Universal Service Fund: A Case Study in the Importance of the Administrative Procedure Act to Government Agency Rulemaking,” CommLaw Conspectus, Journal of Communications Law and Policy, Volume 20, Issue 1, June 2011.

Vineetha Pillai joins The Commpliance Group as a Regulatory Consultant where she will be assisting telecommunications providers with their ongoing state and federal compliance requirements.  Ms. Pillai provides consultancy services for clients such as CMRS carriers, IXCs, ILECs, CLECs, and Interconnected VoIP providers in a wide variety of compliance matters, including:

  • FCC 214 applications
  • 499 Registrations

  • State Public Utility Commission licensing & registrations
  • Corporate Registrations and Annual Report compliance
  • CALEA Systems Security and Integrity submissions
  • Outage reports for major and minor network outages, and
  • Voluntary and involuntary market exits.

After completing law school Ms. Pillai was a Law Clerk with the US Copyright Office, Office of International Policy & Affairs, where she gained critical experience in policy work, copyright registration reviews, and worked on an integral response report from the Copyright Office addressing the Library of Congress’ initiation of a mass digitization of public works project.

Prior to joining Marashlian & Donahue, Ms. Pillai was a Staff Attorney with a Fortune 500 energy company, where she focused her practice on corporate governance matters, including drafting power of attorneys, leading tax restructurings, and drafting corporate agreements.  A large part of her role was to assist with state filings and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) deliverables.  She is a member of the American Bar Association and is licensed to practice in Maryland.
