Important Notice Regarding USAC e–File Password Reset

SHARE

The Universal Service Administrative Company (“USAC”) recently sent updated passwords to all 499 Filer ID account representatives (i.e. the signatory on FCC Form 499s).  This email contains a temporary password for e-File. This temporary password replaces your existing e-File password. This password is important, as it is used to access e-File and file FCC Form 499s online.

All clients who received a new password should use the password to login to USAC’s website and reset their e-File password.   But, please note that most of the temporary passwords sent by USAC do not work. The firm has also found that in many instances the automated password reset feature on USAC’s website does not work as well.

If you are unable to login to USAC’s website, we recommend emailing USAC Customer Support (CustomerSupport@usac.org) with a Password request. A sample Password Request email is as follows:

Dear USAC –

The temporary e-File password provided to me on or around January 8, 2012 is not working. The automated password reset function on USAC’s website does not work as well. Therefore, can you please email me a new password to login to e-File.

Thank you and regards.

USAC has informed us that passwords cannot be reset unless a request is received from the email associated with the e-File account. Therefore please send the password reset request from the email the initial automated password reset was sent to. The firm cannot reset the password on half of your company.

Alternatively, the authorized company representative may also call USAC at: 888-641-8722 (option 2, 1, 1) to have the password reset manually.

Once the password is reset, please forward the new password or “reset email” to the firm. We will store this information in our records for use in future USAC filings.

Please do not hesitate to contact The Commpliance Group if you need further assistance with this matter.
